However, the Endnote toolbar still does not appear (the Endote Web toolbar remains there still though) and if I close the document and then open it again I'll be back at the start again. After activating the EndNote CWYW.dotm file Instead of closing the MS Word document shut down the MS Word program then relaunch the program.

My last hope was to manually copy the files EndNote cwyw.dll and EndNote Online cwyw.dot to the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP. The EndNote menu appears on the Word ribbon, but it does not work at all (VisualBasic error).

I took account of the comments posted above and used the + operator where applicable but unless I close and re-open EndNote the search usually does not work. Example - I searched on Web of Science for papers under author "Holland" and journal "ecological+economics" (I did not use the quotes). My search returned no results.

If I do not have some sense that X4 will support Office 2011, I will be suggesting Bookends, costing Reuters approximately $1,500 in lost sales. I would prefer to recommend Endnote for cross-platform compatibility, but will have absolutely no problems changing my presentation to Bookends.
