Nov 26, 2007 · I was wondering could anyone point me in the right direction to find this type of documentation. I can see on the VMWare website that there is one for exchange 2003 but i am really looking for one for 2007 version. Also am looking to confirm that microsoft will support exchange 2007 if it is installed on a vmware server.

Feb 13, 2007 · Exchange 2007 does not yet support Longhorn server (nor does it support Longhorn directory servers, so AD sites with Longhorn directory servers need to be isolated from AD sites that include Exchange 2007 servers). Support for Longhorn will arrive in a service pack (most likely SP1) for Exchange 2007.

Now, let’s look closer at what “doesn’t support” means. Firstly, they won’t hang up on you if you call in with a problem running Exchange and your virtualization platform is VMware.

Exchange 2007 RTM/SP1/SP2 is not supported on Windows Server 2003 x64 on VMware ESX/ESXi 3.5/4.0. I just got off the phone with Microsoft support and they would not help me because I am running Exchange 2007 SP2 on Server 2003 x64.
