Oct 03, 2011 · Basically I want to bring in files that are XDCAM, and I want to spit out XDCAM files as a finished product. I don't need to export to XDCAM discs, but I need XDCAM QT files. So far I just get ProRes, which is a lovely codec, but won't work in the world I live in.

With FCPX make a copy of the old FCPX .app file and a copy of any libraries using Finder>Duplicate. Obviously that is easier if using "lean libraries" with no internal media, render or proxy files. If you don't have that, make a copy of the FCPX backup folder, by default in /Movies/Final Cut Backups.

Oct 09, 2011 · Hi does anyone out there know what Sony's plans are for integrating xdcam ex into FCPX I remember after the 1.10 update there was talk of Sony soon releasing an update anyone know anything about this eg. what form will it take? native mxf support? or just a better rewrap tool?

I've had this issue last month on a documentary. FCPX crashed ingesting XDCAM with medias outside of the library on a DDP Server. I managed ingesting the XDCAM creating a new library with medias inside the bundle and the library stored on the internal DD on an the old Mac Pro.
