May 08, 2018 · Fedora 28 KDE not recognising MTP devices Yesterday, after nuking my windows installation while attempting to dual-boot, i had to install Fedora on my laptop. but my mobile does get recognised, but I can't enter nor watch any of the files within it.

If I switch the phone to USB mode, I can access the SD card, but the MTP portion is now broken, and not sure how to fix it. Tried to reinstall the gvfs-mtp package but no luck. I am having so many anomalies with F28, thinking about reverting back to F27 as an solution.

Dec 09, 2014 · A bit of gooling indicated that fedora 20 included mtp support, so I bit the bullet and tried to install that on my machine (despite the recommended RAM also being 1G for this). The install went through (remarkably easily) and mtp is indeed supported on fedora 20 and I can now see the files on my mp3 player.
