Leave FRAPS behind, it's in the past now and besides it is terrible at memory allocation and so it makes the file sizes ridiculously large. MSI Afterburner (just as an example) has perfectly fine image capture and the file sizes are 5x smaller than FRAPS (not an exaggeration). Just some advice, though.

Apr 13, 2015 · Hi, issue with fraps and I'm wondering if anyone has had this/knows how to fix it. Basically what happens is when I record with fraps my fps caps at around 80 fps in fullscreen 1080p on any game I play. As soon as I switch to 720p windowed, fraps hops to 240fps locked. This does this for minecraft, battlefield 4, CSGO, etc...

Jun 17, 2016 · After check on the FRAPS site, this application has not been updated since 2013 and latest Windows supported is Windows 7. Seems you had luck that it was still working in Windows 8.1 You should try to contact them if they still work on this program.

Aug 25, 2014 · Fraps settings were full screen, no audio recording. So now I've been looking around and it seems that OBS (open broadcaster software) is a good, free choice for a videogame recording software, but apparently it needs some configuration, certainly a lot more complex than the good ol' fraps.
