    My home server is FreeBSD and I do use bhyve to run a couple Linux VMs, managed by the vm-bhyve script. Bhyve+FreeBSD is definitely rough around the edges. It only supports booting from UEFI and Grub. It has no graphical console support which would pretty much axe running Windows or macOS.
