    http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.9/changes.html
GCC 4.9 Release Series Changes, New Features, and Fixes Caveats. The mudflap run time checker has been removed. The mudflap options remain, but do nothing. Support for a number of older systems and recently unmaintained or untested target ports of GCC has been declared obsolete in GCC 4.9.

Note: Support for Mudflap has been removed in the upstream FSF gcc, and therefore future releases of the QNX Neutrino version of gcc won't support it either.; If your binary is instrumented with Mudflap, you can't run Memory Analysis on it because there will be a conflict trying to overload the same functions, which will cause the program to crash.

Apple - Lists.apple.com

    https://lists.apple.com/archives/xcode-users/2007/Nov/msg00676.html
I'm intrigued by -fmudflap (even though it doesn't support pointer checking), but it seems I cannot compile ("cc1: error: mf-runtime.h: No such file or directory") with mudflap enabled. Neither the headers nor the runtime library seem to be on my system (but with Spotlight excluding some areas I wouldn't bet on it).

Plugin support for gcc in RHEL/CentOS? - Unix & Linux ...

    https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/60420/plugin-support-for-gcc-in-rhel-centos
Plugin support for GCC was added in 4.5 and so it is not available in RHEL 5 and 6 without building a newer version of GCC from source or without using the devtoolset. Also, a branch was made to backport plugin support to gcc 4.4 , but I'm not sure what the status of that build is and it doesn't appear to be available as an RPM for CentOS/RHEL.

MinGW - Minimalist GNU for Windows / Issues / #1855 ...

    https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw/bugs/1855/
G++ 4.0.2 currently supports the libmudflap capability to instrument code to expose problems with pointers. Mudflap uses the intrinsic machinery of the compiler to intelligently instrument the code at compile time instead of after the fact attempts like valgrind. The instrumentation allows checking and nearly full speed execution.

Using Mudflap - QNX

    http://www.qnx.com/developers/docs/6.5.0/topic/com.qnx.doc.ide.userguide/topic/debug_UsingMudflapInIDE_.html
How Mudflap works in the IDE. Mudflap adds another pass to GCCs compiler sequence to add instrumentation code to the resulting binary that encapsulates potentially dangerous pointer operations. In addition, Mudflap keeps a database of memory objects to evaluate any pointer operation against a known list of valid objects.
