To tell Gimp how to use the stylus pressure (and tilt, on your tablet) you use Dynamics.. (*) Normally three since you have a reversible stylus: one for your regular mouse/touchpad, and one for each end of the stylus.

Jun 30, 2019 · Windows Gimp 2.8 is acknowledged as 'not-very-good' graphic-tablet support. No improvement forecast until maybe Gimp 3 so do not hold your breath. Windows Gimp 2.6 is better (I am told) with tablets. Very easy to install Gimp 2.6 in parallel with Gimp 2.8 once Gimp 2.8 is installed.
