    I have heard of people giving birth without their own doctor/midwife/partner when the baby came a lot faster than anybody expected, and I am pretty certain if that happened to me I would be OK with just the midwives (they all seem so lovely), but if hubby couldn't be there, without a doubt I would have my mum or sister.     I just recently had to give birth without a support person there. We are new to the area and had no one to look after our DS and I was adamant that I didn't want him in the delivery room so DH had to stay home with him. As it was, I had to be induced so I was already at the hospital when labour finally hit.
