Jan 06, 2009 · I have a GL40 chipset. My laptop is a WalMart special - Compaq CQ50-139WM. Currently I have a Celeron 575. I'd like to go to something faster. I've scoured the forums and haven't found a whole lot. The service manual for the CQ50 indicates that there is broad processor support but I'm assuming this doesn't take into account the different chipsets.
