Mar 12, 2017 · Glock did produce some early 40S&W chambers that lacked sufficient case head support to have sufficient margins. In addition, early 40S&W ammo had normal webs which when combined with the early Glock 40 chambers, left insufficient margin for error (loading errors).

Nov 22, 2011 · Yes, SAAMI specs indicate that a 40 S&W chamber should have a fully supported chamber (due to the round's high pressure), but Glock chose to ignore that for their 40 caliber barrels, because it makes the gun easier to feed more reliably. Edited November 18, 2011 by SirLoin

Dec 25, 2015 · I have a new Glock 40. I am new to auto pistols. I have read that factory Glock barrels lack case head support for hot 10mm loads. I ordered a new 6" KKM barrel in order to shoot plated lead bullets and to obtain better accuracy.

That translates to 56 9mm's 40 40's and 30 45 cals per dollar. 9mm = 1.78 per hundred assuming a 125 gr bullet

What is the deal with this un-supported case head thing and Glocks? I reload for my Glock .40 S&W and never had a problem whatsoever. Some things I read make me feel that every time I tweak the trigger . . . . the gun is going to explode and send the slide through my forehead!
