S/MIME support in Gmail? I also asked this question in the community, but I never had a successful answer or promise of improvement there before. So I'll ask here as well. Is it possible to use S/MIME in Gmail? I see no way to do this. It seems to work fine on the iOS mail app. But Android lacks this feature, with the native apps of course.

Hosted S/MIME is supported when sending email using Gmail clients from Google for web and mobile devices and other clients, such as IMAP. If you send a message using the other clients, Gmail will add the S/MIME certificate, sign the message and encrypt it if possible.
