Nov 27, 2007 · Pardom my naivety but can wood be used as an isolation platform for a T/T? If so what type of wood and what dimensions? I'm just curious as I really don't want to fork out £100 for an isolation platform. I walk buy a lumber yard everyday on the way to work and thought if I could use wood I can just get them to cut me a piece on the cheap.

The fact is that it is a synthetic material--not natural at all.3.7/5(40)

Apr 07, 2008 · Not sure if granite is the best as an isolation platform anyway. Depends on what you want to do with it. If you just want to protect your floor from spikes there are better ways if you want to truly isolate than granite and your speakers spikes won't really do it. Mar 18, 2018 · On top of them i put an heavy granite board. On top of all this sits my turntable (with damping rubber feet). I can make a wild party at home and my turntable won’t notice it. Recording studio isolation taught me that the more different materials you put the better the isolation efficiency. Also, heavy materials like granite can help a lot.
