Xbox 360 controller in Half life 2 and episode one? I have the Orange Box on my laptop. Portal, Episode two and Team Fortress work flawlessly wiht my xbox 360 controller. But HL2 and HL2 episode one don't seem to have automatic xbox 360 controller support. I read the page in steam showing what to do but I still can't understand it fully.

According to the link I provided above, Half-Life 2 only has partial controller support. It's entirely possible the controller you're trying to use, which I have no experience with, is just not compatible.

Jun 25, 2018 · @ Cabbage Stabber. You have to have a Steam controller for Half Life. I just tried it w/ an Xbox One controller, and a big warning pops up that the game was not meant to be played w/ a controller and you need a Steam controller to continue.
