Spring's hibernate4 package appears to have done away with HibernateTemplate and HibernateDaoSupport. I'm in the process of upgrading Hibernate from 3 to 4 in my Spring app and I have a fair few subclasses of Spring's HibernateDaoSupport and a couple of Hibernate callbacks through HibernateTemplate.

I've been doing some work with Hibernate 3.5 and Spring 3 recently, I'm fairly new with Hibernate and thought the HibernateDaoSupport class in Spring made it nice and easy to use Hibernate with my domain classes.. While using gethibernateTemplate() I observed this is deprecated as per spring-orm version 3(as SessionFactory.getCurrentSession() was not present) but not deprecated as per spring-orm version 4. I have couple of question : 1. Is it suggested to use if we choose version 4? 2.
