If you aren't familiar with an IOMMU, it is strongly analogous to a regular MMU but applied to a DMA context. The difference between the two is this is support for such a feature on many devices while the one above is specifically for IOMMU IBM devices. If this is disabled and you need to use it later, use this kernel parameter (iommu=calgary).

The help is actually reasonably informative, at least once you have the background on it I briefly outlined above. I don't know anything about the IBM Calgary IOMMU listed as another option, but it's apparently on IBM hardware only, according to the help. Don't get confused by it.

Hi, I try to install CentOS 6.4 on a x3455 with 2 x ADM 2218 dual core, later try to install KVM from official repositories, and the dmesg file show me that IOMMU are disable, but no BIOS IOMMU switch is present, a message in dmesg say AMD-Vi is disable by default, use amd_iommu=on, but KVM don't work yet.
