Oct 03, 2012 · By a quirk of fate I support an application that uses "font: icon" for most of its "normal" text. For the uninitiated, "font: icon" gets your fonts in the same type and size as Windows uses for icon labels on the desktop etc. I know for a fact that IE does support it, but not Chrome.

May 31, 2017 · Icon fonts can contain tonnes of icons in a single HTTP request, are cache able, scalable, can be written once and used many times, are easier for the none developer to grasp and use (my opinion), and have deeper browser support. Icon fonts still have their use, I would not advocate getting rid of icon fonts yet, they still have many advantages.

Nov 23, 2015 · If you won’t stop using icon fonts for people with screen readers, people with dyslexia, people with browsers that don’t support @font-face, people who randomly didn’t load the icon font once for some reason, or designers who just want their icons to look right on-screen… Then do it for yourself.
