Currently, only genuine TrackIR units are reported to work. Games specifically need to support non-official solutions - ie hack out the encryption check in the TrackIR API, support an open protocol such as FreeTrack, or allow head tracker control via joystick axes. MWO does none of these, so only units sold by NaturalPoint will work.

Apr 06, 2014 · As of todays patch MWO has TrackIR support. FreeTrack detects that MWO has TrackIR support and creates a profile. Freelook does not work with FreeTrack on so it is detected on some level my MWO.
