The Prime games are definitely worth it, the original Metroid Prime is probably my favorite of the series. Personally, I think the Wii controls are much better than the Gamecube controller still great games no matter what kind of control.

The wii u doesnt have enough power to emulate wii games at full speed and upres them. Yes you need to use wiimote for prime trilogy, only games that supported the classic controller on the wii support pro controller on the wii u, however if you play the gamecube versions on nintendont you can use a gamecube controller.
