May 20, 2011 · On my P67A-GD65 with a I5 2500k I can enable Intel Virtualization Tech and I can't enable Intel VT-D Tech. So the motherboard knows that but probably the CPU doesn't support it .

So, virtually all current Xeon processors support VT, but currently only one chipset (5400 aka Seaburg) support VT-d. It should be noted, that the BIOS also should allow it to enable VT. And even then, when all three conditions are met, there is no guarantee that it will work flawlessly.

May 31, 2013 · I have also been told by Gigabyte that all their UEFI Motherboards support VT-d. I've also built a home project ESXi server with an i5 2500 along with the ASROCK board and 24GB RAM.
