Oct 15, 2015 · Hi I’m having a problem with my My Book network drive, where it keeps disappearing from the network, and hence is unaccessable. The router is showing it connected as a cabled connection & it’s allocated an IP address, but next to the address it’s has “UNKNOWN” as it’s network name. Dec 07, 2018 · After building a PC with win 10, i've not had my WD my book world edition used for a good while, decided to plug it in and install the drivers etc. Plugged it into a switch and it's not being recognised at all, even downloaded the WD cd with the drivers and the detection tool doesn't see it either.

Jun 29, 2017 · Since most of not all My book world edition i and II only support SMB1 does this mean it will have to be thrown to the trash? still works what a shame… saw some hacks to SMB2 but not sure how safe that is as you can brick your device and loose all data.

Jul 17, 2008 · MyBookWorld software is currently pretty lame, but the device otherwise seems to work OK. I use mine as a RAID1 mirrored backup to my RAID5 Snapserver. Officially, WD doesn't support the drive for MacOSX, but as long as you are comfortable without the Mionet client software, and SMB/CIFS access, it works fine.
