No! NDIS doesn’t support Master/Repeater/Monitor modes. The only modes supported are Ad-Hoc and Managed. Note that some drivers may support features that are not in NDIS e.g., showing signal noise and possibly Master mode, but they are proprietary and no documentation available for them, so such features won’t be supported by ndiswrapper.

Great job, but it would be nice if NDISWRAPPER could support monitor/promiscuous mode for wireless cards !--> Any chance to find a way to peek behind NDIS ? I guess this the same request as AP mode, too. The question raise from that under windows, the same driver do support monitor.

May 16, 2011 · Ndiswrapper. Ndiswrapper is a tool which allows you to use your windows wlan drivers in Linux. It is even on the Live CD. So if you do not have any Internet connection whatsoever, you can still install it. Let's assume you have just installed Ubuntu. Now go to System - Administration - Software Sources and see if Installable from CD-Rom is checked.

Dec 08, 2011 · NDISwrapper. NDISwrapper cards are NOT SUITABLE for base-station use - they don't do master mode. NDISwrapper is basically a layer of interfacing glue to use Windows drivers with Linux, and so it denies access to some of the more interesting &/or esoteric functions of the wireless card (because NDIS has no programming interface for them, I guess).
