May 19, 2010 · I was right that my NFS server was running version 3 with support for TCP. But, I had locked down the /etc/hosts.allow file and forgot to add the new ESXi server to it and restart the SSH server. As soon as I did this I was able to mount the NFS datastore on serverB.

Each time I try and add the storage I get the following help: NFS Error: Unable to Mount filesystem: The NFS server does not support MOUNT version 3 over TCP. vSphere does not support datastore upgrades from NFS version 3 to version 4.1. When you mount the same NFS 3 volume on different hosts, make sure that the server and folder names are identical across the hosts. If the names do not match, the hosts see the same NFS version 3 volume as two different datastores.

Wow, some of these competitors are either clueless, or simply desperate Veeam was probably the first VMware backup vendor to have deduplication, we had built-in dedupe in the product since version 1.0 released over 3 years ago.
