May 22, 2010 · I think it's trying to say that your RAM, on either your card or system, isn't a power of 2. I'm talking 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. It probably goes by what it says in the system information, which is usually off by 1 or so, making it not a power of 2. Anyways, get the patch like adrichardson and MattTS said and that should fix it.

Jul 28, 2006 · Forceware drivers have had non-power of 2 texture support for quite some time now. So does your 7800GT I imagine. There may be some other reason for your black screen. The game loader is one of the wonkiest I've ever seen - it drops back to desktop several times before you are actually in game.

Oct 17, 2012 · There are generally three big types of texture size support: Full support for arbitrary texture sizes. This includes mipmaps, all texture wrap & filtering modes, and most often compressed texture formats as well. “Limited” support for non-power-of-two sizes. No mipmaps, texture wrap mode has to be Clamp, but does allow texture filtering.

While the PS2 doesn't technically support non-power-of-two textures, you can, in some cases, kind of force it to do so with a little clever manipulation and no speed loss. The XBox, on the other hand, completely did not support them.
