I have one of the new 680i NVidia motherboards and can confirm (unfortunately) that installing an extra graphics card in the third PCIe slot does not currently allow multiple monitor support. Hopefully NVidia will work fast and update their drivers to permit the three-card solution to work. Until then, it looks like we will be unhappy and stuck.

Oct 02, 2015 · I can either get SLI working with one monitor, or SLI off with two monitors. I have tried similar methods as you have, using nvidia-xconfig to enable SLI and mucking about with xorg.conf. The GUI definitely does not want you to be able to use both monitors and SLI- it doesn't even have an option to control SLI. My best best so far has been this: 1.

Hi, I kinda had the same problem. I use a single GTX 650Ti Boost and just wanted to do some dual monitor lovin' goodness. So, for my old monitor, I had to connect HDMI to HDMI>DVI and for my second monitor, Displayport>HDMI to HDMI. Meaning, my first monitor had DVI and my second monitor had HDMI.
