The OpenGL Shading Language is a C-style language, so it covers most of the features you would expect with such a language. Control structures (for-loops, if-else statements, etc) exist in GLSL, including the switch statement. This section will not cover the entire language in detail; the GLSL specification can handle that. This Wiki page will note the differences between GLSL and C.

Sep 24, 2018 · OpenGL has been disabled: The OpenGL version is not supported. Required minimum OpenGL 3.3. However, when I start up OpenGL Extensions Viewer, I see that it reports "3.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 17" and I even am able to run the 3.3 tests, which draws an OpenGL test box on the screen.

GLSL doesn't support recursive function and while loops, which is needed if I want to create a function that can give me the result of (a % b). First, neither recursion nor looping is necessary to compute a mod b. That's easily done by a - (b * floor(a/b)). Which is exactly what the built-in mod function does.
