Seems OpenMP was active in IOS till Xcode 4.4. But,in the latest version of xcode, i am not able to see any options for OpenMP. Eg: Link. I hope all the higher end android mobiles have more than 1 cores and ARM based. As per my belief, the openMp should work with Android platforms with the help of NDK building. Is my understanding correct?

May 01, 2015 · There are no problem with OpenMP support under Android since NDK includes proper version of Gcc. Unfortunately, it is using version 3.1. Right now i am working with Android smartphones and trying to compare results with OpenMP "from-the-box" 3.1 and OmpSS with OpenMP 4.0 support. I also don't have any info about iOS.

OpenMP Support in Xcode 5 and later I have a proprietary library (>150,000 lines) of quantum mechanics C++ code that relies on OpenMP for parallisation. This code used to compile fine with Xcode 4.6 and its' real GCC compiler, but the LLVM compiler that ships with Xcode 5 doesn't seem to support OpenMP.

Sep 19, 2016 · The OpenMP support you refer to was the libgomp support from the Apple gcc-4.2 and llvm-gcc compilers. The legacy libgomp is certain to disappear whenever Apple finally deprecates libstdc++ fully out of the OS.

Dec 01, 2013 · OpenMP is not supported (yet) by clang. The old gcc is no longer bundled with Xcode 5. You'll have to use Xcode 4 with the ancient gcc 4.2.1, or compile your own gcc from source (or use some package manager thing that does that for you)

Oct 16, 2016 · hi @sooheon, i'm not quite sure that you are confusing openMP with openMPI(or just an typo) which doesn't needed by lightGBM by default. since I don't have an sierra , I'm not quite sure that apple clang has openMP supported on sierra. the 10.11 OSX has the clang version accord to ~3.7, and openMP was default supported since 3.8.
