Mar 14, 2013 · I suspect the problem is that Outlook 2003 does not support TLS, only SSL; and for some reason the smtp.live.mail server supports SSL on Port 25; but only supports TLS on Port 587; and does not support 465 at all. And since Comcast has blocked Port 25 I am out of luck! net -a shows.

Dec 11, 2008 · Can you test the account settings? Does it log on then? You should receive a test email. Odds are that particular port is being blocked. I would recommend (if you don't find any firewall/security changes affects this issue) asking your mail administrator for a different port number, other than the Outlook xx (version) number.
