Same story here, VirtualBox 5.1.10 and Windows XP 32-bit version cannot communicate with Parallel Port. Need this because of old hardware dongle, which is needed with Workview Office FPGA development. Checked BIOS, but port is enabled. Can you comment on this problem?

Aug 26, 2015 · The virtual machine or guest OS does not have direct access to the hardware of your host computer unless VirtualBox provides an interface or passthrough. I would say parallel printer ports are pretty much obsolete and have been replaced with ethernet or USB. Anyway, VirtualBox does support LPT, but it isn't in the menu.

Jan 11, 2012 · I have a user who is running a win 7 64 bit laptop and has XP mode running. they need to access a dongle from the LPT 1 port on the host. i see that for what ever reason, xp mode does not support LPT1. how retarded. there has to be a work around for this.
