Apr 30, 2012 · Parallels Desktop supports USB routing to the Virtual Machines, what I'm asking is the same but for Firewire, specifically for external drives, since I use external Firewire drives (Firewire 800) and I have to switch to USB (if they support USB also) to use inside the VM, if PDM supports Firewire than it would work much more smoothly.

PLEASE show me how to gain access to this device in Windows on my Intel iMac with Parallels Desktop (RTM) On my Mac, all I have to do is plug it in, and its recognized. Same is true on Windows, but NOT under Parallels.

Aug 29, 2013 · I am a Parallels 7 User and I couldn't upgrade to version 8 or 9 or whatever without Firewire support. :-(Firewire is the ONLY feature I've ever wanted to have, I do a lot of digital editing and I want to be able to capture from a Firewire device like a Canon XH-A1.

Oct 13, 2016 · I contacted support a second time and they had me rerun the Windows 10 (which I didn't know at the time was going to prevent me from going back to my Windows 8.1 version) and that didn't fix the issue. So I contacted support again and after 4 hours they told me Windows is no longer going to support the Firewire adapter because it is obsolete.
