Most MMOs should play at least fairly well with a steam controller. It has a great built in on screen keyboard, you can use the left touchpad as a radial menu for common commands and the right touchpad for mouse look and so on. Have toggles to change profile gives you so many options and everything is highly configurable.

Grim Dawn has controller support, though I can't say much about it since I've never really sat down to try it. Likewise Zombasite by Soldak Entertainment, and likely some of their older titles, have controller support as well, but I just tried to test it out and couldn't get it to work.

I recently started playing Tree of Savior and found myself pretty pleased with the controller support. Although, when it comes to the fighting and accepting/turning in quests it's a cinch, but when you're looking to chat, buy from vendors or a make a mouse selection it requires keyboard & mouse (from what I've seen so far).
