We have a (virtual) server 2008 box hosting the peachtree company / data files. Peachtree software is NOT running on this server. One user at the organization uses PPA on his workstation, accessing the data/company files on the server through a mapped drive. The PPA client continually asks for a 2010 SR2 update when shutting down.

Jul 25, 2008 · Also, I installed the Peachtree program in a external hard drive of the server, and it has worked fine from 2008 until I realized that the 941 form were expired and since then I also found out that the reason was that server components were not updated (we have the tax update services with Peachtree).

In the past the maximum supported file length was 260 characters (256 usable after the drive characters and termination character). In Windows 10 long file name support can be enabled which allows file names up to 32,767 characters (although you lose a few characters for mandatory characters that are part of the name).

My question is what would cause this to be an issue for this specific user. I have already tried remapping the network drive to no avail.

So, what I would recommend you do is: Double-check the format of the external drive that this happens to;

Sep 12, 2011 · We have run into similar problems before, it is not just the individual file name but the entire path that makes up the "long file name", so all the nested folders contributed to this length. Have you the user look at all the folder names along the path, some of them may need to be shortened with abbreviations, etc.
