Apple has not mentioned whether or not the iPad will support LEAP or PEAP Wi-Fi authentication. iPhones already have EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) support via the iPhone Configuration Utility. Since the iPad will run iPhone OS 3.2, it's likely that support for these will be included.

Oct 21, 2010 · In the Enterprise Deployment Guide, it says that as of version 3.2, iOS supports the following 802.1X authentication methods for WPA Enterprise and WPA2 Enterprise networks: EAP-TLS EAP -TTLS EAP-FAST EAP-SIM PEAP v0 PEAP v1 LEAP I don't know how you'd configure that on an individual iPhone, but that guide might be of help.

Jul 02, 2007 · Well with my university's VPN network, you just create a new 802.1x setting with PEAP as the security and then use your university ID and password to log on. The iPhone detects the university's Wifi, but when I try to connect, there is only a password blank, which is not sufficient since it needs the username as well.
