Hello everyone, thanks for reading this. TLDR: got opensuse, dota 2 is unplayable, it wont even run if launched with primus, is buggy when launched using just the intel graphics. After a long fight, I managed to make Optimus (bumblebee) run on my laptop and just when I thought everything was going to run smoothly, I tried to launch Dota.

Oct 02, 2013 · I would also recommend S2TC if I thought it would work with proprietary games. As it stands you will probably need to install s3tc from deb-multimedia or the proprietary blob driver for your GPU, if there is one available. S3TC is not firmware, it's just a separate lib, but is patent encumbered..

After making sure you have the latest driver that supports your video card and have only installed one of the ones mentioned above, reboot the system and test again. The latest driver makes sure your video card supports the S3TC texture compression.

Feb 13, 2014 · Wow that title is very misleading. Granted integrated GPU/CPU combos have come a long way. It should play some games, but its not going to play Half-Life 2, Amnesia, Counter-Strike:Source or DOTA2 at high resolutions.

Feb 12, 2014 · Hello, I had the same issue yesterday, this trick works for me. Open up the terminal and paste this force_s3tc_enable=true steam It will start steam , wait a minute and start dota 2, but the other issue i got is lag.. maybe i got about 25-30 fps .
