May 22, 2014 · Fender American special's do have graphite rods. From the fender site: Unique Features: US-Made, High Gloss Finish, NEW Slim Profile, Fast-Action Neck, Greasebucket(TM) Tone Circuit and Posiflex(TM) Graphite Neck Support Rods Just to clear that up. I to have a 2011 AM. Special jazz. Cant say that the rods really help with it.

Jan 06, 2012 · You're right about the Posiflex truss-rod system. Yeah, the graphite reinforced necks were a new feature for the post-2006 HWY1s. Fender uses the same graphite neck support rods for the American Special series (which superseded the HWY1s in 2010) as well. For the instance the pickguards are notched for heel-access truss-rod adjustments.
