May 25, 2009 · Full Quad Core support would require a full rework of pcsx2, doesn't matter how much you nag and QQ, the developers arn't gonna do it. End of discussion. NOTE: You can use all 4 cores, using gsdx in software mode.

Oct 10, 2006 · Hey guys, i was just wondering in the future would PCSX2 support Quad core CPU's which may improve fps? Or is it better just sticking with a dual core for now. If PCSX2 could support quad core any ideas on how long it would take to implement? Not complaining or anything, just wondering.. Thanks

Mar 28, 2014 · To make PCSX2 efficiently use 4 or more cores will require major code changes. So don't ask when quad-core support will be available, since it won't be anytime soon! However, PCSX2 will run fine on your quad-core processor. It just won't benefit from the extra core.

Mar 15, 2007 · Has anyone tried PCSX2 on a Quad-Core? I wonder what kind of speed you would get on that. I know it matters of the video card too, but if you can afford a Quad-Core right now, then I'm sure you can a great video card as well. Anyone? :)

Jun 06, 2010 · but that doesn't mean we'll get 100% FPS gains from each core, it'll probably be around a 20~30% speed boost total. dual core users will also benefit as well (maybe 5~15%) of course i'm just being optimistic, but quad-core support is something i've wanted to see in pcsx2 for along time, so don't think the users are the only ones that want this

Jun 29, 2007 · PCSX2 development team has not developed Quad Core Support YET which means even if you play PCSX2 with a Dual Core it'll be unstabilized and only two core will be in use, which means the two other cores and not being used.

Note: The easiest way to see what features your cpu has, you can look at the PCSX2 Output Window, for example mine is: Detected MMX Detected SSE Detected SSE2 Detected SSE3 Not Detected SSSE3 Not Detected SSE4.1 Not Detected ...
