When the Tech support guy returned he confirmed Rogers does not support femtocells but said there was a coverage extender or signal booster type product available in most stores, although he wasn't sure what the product was actually called. Earlier I had sent an email request to Rogers asking about femtocells, their reply is below:

2010/11/11: I should first point out – Rogers used to call their UMA service “TalkSpot” but seems to have dropped that name and is using “WiFi Calling” instead. Alas, as is the usual case Rogers has no helpful /UMA SWC (though they do have a /TalkSpot SWC, but it takes you to the wrong info – the MY5 info instead of the TalkSpot info … as is the not-unusual case.

Rogers has gone downhill over the past year or two. I've been a Rogers customer for a long time (10+ years) but this is the end. Their customer service is terrible, tech support poorly educated, they don't stand behind their products, so I give them a totally justified "F".

Well, that makes sense. The service is provided by the carrier, so Rogers won't support a non-Rogers SIM. I don't think any non-carrier phones have Wi-Fi calling enabled. I know lots of people are very anti-carrier, but Wi-Fi calling is a major feature that can only be supported through a carrier.
