Most routers and modem/routers do not have MoCA, so they need a MoCA Adapter if you want to connect the router to an HDTV or other device that has a MoCA Adapter. Typically FiOS and some other fiber optic services use a MoCA-enabled router. You don't need to connect a MoCA Adapter to these routers.

I finally turned the Cisco MoCA support off and placed an ActionTec component coming from the modem back into the Coax network and all seems to be working fine now. Seems like the Cisco router support may not be that great for more than a single device, or over a certain distance (the second location has over 200ft of cable from the modem/router).

So there are two different sides to MoCa with FiOS. The MoCa WAN and MoCa LAN. The G1100 or MI424WR Router will be needed if you want to use Coax to deliver your WAN connection, as most MoCa adapters are not designed to tune into the frequency broadcast by the ONT for WAN.

May 03, 2018 · DO NOT buy/ try Arris all in one Surfboard combined modem, router, MoCa! I suffered through 2 units, numerous calls to Time Warner, Arris tech/customer support, & a year of trying to use that setup! I finally gave up & returned to Actiontec adapter bridge modem to router. If you are still interested in the Arris Surfboard, I am not using mine.

Re: Does COMCAST support MOCA? the MoCA devices you bought are MoCA 1.1 (same as comcast) but of course not the same password. splitters for band D (for non fios cable) is used needs splitters to go to at least 1002 Ghz for MoCA 1.1.
