Studio 5000 only supports controllers starting with revision 21. Prior to that, we use RSLogix 5000. Your 5563 controller only supports up to revision 20, so RSLogix 5000 is necessary.

4) Studio 5000 Logix Designer v21 does not support Redundancy. If you're new to ControlLogix redundancy here's a tip: Not every version of RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 supports redundancy (even though the check box to enable it is found in every version.) When you install RSLogix5000 you can choose what versions you wish to "install support for". If you choose to not "install support for" a revision (like rev 13) then when you encounter that revision the software tells you to either upgrade to a revision you have "installed support for" (like v16) or to update the controller's firmware.
