Feb 13, 2014 · I'm operating on Linux Mint 16 petra cinamon 64 bit. I also tried downloading and installing the latest drivers from AMD which resulted in Mint crashing every time I booted and I had to reinstall mint from live CD. I have contacted steam a few days ago but have had no response from them other than the automated email.

Feb 12, 2014 · Hello, I had the same issue yesterday, this trick works for me. Open up the terminal and paste this force_s3tc_enable=true steam It will start steam , wait a minute and start dota 2, but the other issue i got is lag.. maybe i got about 25-30 fps .

Dec 11, 2012 · Note: some people recommend using driconf and enable option "Enable S3TC texture compression...", but driconf doesn't have that option on my system. My system: HP Pavilion g6 laptop with 4x AMD A6-3420 APU and Radeon HD 6400M videocard 64-bit Linux Mint 13 LTS (could 64-bit be the problem?) Open source Radeon drivers ("Gallium 0.4 on AMD SUMO")
