Jan 26, 2012 · SBS 2011 only supports a single Network Card by design. Many of the HP servers that we sell our clients come with multiple network cards installed in them. Most people will simply connect one of the cards and then leave the other disconnected.

SBS 2011 can NOT be used with two NICs. This is a significant cha ge from SBS 2003 and is stated throughout the product FAQs, migration guides, and other places. You must disable one NIC and use an independent gateway/edge device. A business class security/UTM device is strongly recommended.

Aug 25, 2011 · Before doing SBS Wizard, I tried to team 2 NICs with Broadcomm BACS, no luck. I called Dell and Dell Techie remoted to this server, they also couldn't do it. Then I ordered Intel Dual Gigabit ET network card. While its on the way, I did the Wizard, set everything up and running with 1 NIC (Exchange, IIS, etc, etc). SBS 2011 running fine.

As it is a Windows Server underneath, SBS 2011 will run with multiple NICs. As will 2008. You might experience trouble with the network connection wizards, though, and risk your support status. – the-wabbit Jun 11 '13 at 6:27 add a comment
