SCons: A software construction tool - SCons

    https://scons.org/
SCons is an Open Source software construction tool—that is, a next-generation build tool. Think of SCons as an improved, cross-platform substitute for the classic Make utility with integrated functionality similar to autoconf/automake and compiler caches such as ccache. In short, SCons is an easier, more reliable and faster way to build software.

scons / SCons / wiki / IDEIntegration — Bitbucket

    https://bitbucket.org/scons/scons/wiki/IDEIntegration
Dec 29, 2017 · Integrating scons into IDEs. IDEs can often parse the output of build tools like scons which output the warnings and errors from the compiler etc as if the IDE had called the compiler itself. By using scons with your favourite IDE the best of both worlds can be obtained.

Bug 155113 – [80cat] Support for Scons - NetBeans

    https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=155113
SCons is a powerful build system and many open source projects use that. I need SCons for all projects and use SCons for own projects. However, SCons promote the popularity and distribtution. I hope, the next Netbeans version includes a SCons support.

CLion – Brand New IDE for C and C++ Developers Hacker News

    https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8295036
Sep 10, 2014 · If you program C++, you will have to use some combination of a dozen strange autoconf/Make solutions, CMake, boost::jam, scons, rake, etc. If you work at a big corporation, you'll probably have a custom build tool. Any ide worth a damn will either be build tool agnostic or it won't be useful to the majority of the target market.

I was looking for an IDE to set up the Godot environment but couldn't find one that I like. (Criteria were: Available features, stability, look and feel) CLion is, in my opinion, one of the best C/C++ IDEs which is also available for Linux. Unfortunately it does not support SCons as a build system.

scons / SCons / wiki / SconsVsOtherBuildTools — Bitbucket

    https://bitbucket.org/scons/scons/wiki/SconsVsOtherBuildTools
SCons. Pros: Based on a full-fledged programming language, Python. This means you can make the build system do pretty much anything you can figure out how to program, if it doesn't do it already. This also means it doesn't reinvent the wheel, and uses a tried-and-proven syntax. Support for many platforms, compilers, and targets built-in.
