Support IE6 by not blocking it and letting it fend for itself for the most part. Only work around IE6 bugs that break major functionality. As for JS bugs and horrible DOM support, you still have that in IE7 and IE8. In that case, you might as well use a JS toolkit and get IE6 support for almost free.

There are plenty who think we should stop supporting IE 6 but I'm not going to do that until IE 6 has less than 2-3% in my sites browser stats. Too many people have no choice in the browser they use and since IE 6 still has 10-26% usage on my sites I'm not willing to drop support.
