Sep 25, 2008 · to check you can try taking a normal pc-dvd rom drive set to jumper to slave mode. then plug in the IDE cable and use a Y-splitter power cable from the hdd to power the pc-dvd rom.

Oct 14, 2005 · I bought a broken Xbox, and it says "Your Xbox requires service. Please call Xbox Customer Service." when I turn it on. The front LED also blinks red and green. It does this with or without a game. I think it is a really old Xbox. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong? I opened it up as far as I could, but couldn't see any obvious problems.

Jan 26, 2010 · I put the files on my memory card via ftp from a modded box and successfully copied those onto the XBox HD. Im using the Splinter Cell exploit. When I try to load "Checkpoints" it goes to a screen with green writing with the number 21 in the left hand top corner saying "Service Required. Call customer support." Thanks in advance

Dec 11, 2015 · You have to call Microsoft support and ask for the code but I don’t think they have a support team for the Original Xbox anymore. I think I may have to buy another one that works. The code is different for every Xbox and from what I can see there is no obvious way to figure out what the code is.

This means you must call Microsoft--they're the guys who programmed your console to display that message. The reason they programmed the console that way is so you know when it's not functioning properly and requires service.
