Jun 12, 2018 · Solaris 10 is not end of support on Jan 2021. "only" Extended Support will end. It will still work and Support is available, but Oracle will not produce new Patches. Of course it's time to migrate to Solaris 11..

Also are there any advantage in running solaris 10 in a branded zone than in an LDOM. From a security perspective, which is the recommended deployment model.

That's the plan at least and so far no one has voiced any strong objection to dropping the Solaris 10 support from the GCC compiler. Solaris was a fair amount of fun in the final days of Sun Microsystems, but it looks now like it's time to sunset Solaris 10 by GCC 10.

Oracle had decided in September 2019 that Extended Support for Solaris 10, without additional financial penalty, would be delayed to 2024 !
