I can install solidworks 2008 (SP0) with our original CD, but the online update to SP5 failed, and there is no 2008 SP5 in the download section of this solidworks website. Officially only Solidworks 2009, Solidworks 2010 and Solidworks 2011 are support Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit). Solidworks 2007 and Solidworks 2008 are not supports Windows 7 officially.

The SolidWorks Technical Support team would only be able to offer you limited support for older versions of SolidWorks running on the unsupported operating system.

Mar 05, 2008 · Previously in Solidworks 2007, each upgrade is only a few hundred MBytes at most. Now when we upgrade from SP0 to SP3, we have to download 3GB! I went to Solidworks support site and thought could download a Solidworks 2008 SP3 DVD, but what I got was just a Solidworks installer which would install the whole 3GB of files.
