Jun 16, 2018 · That's all fine, but when I run Quake4, I go to setup the audio, and I can't select "Surround Sound" because it says, "Warning your sound card does not support OpenAL". Is there a fix for this, like an OpenAL to Dolby translator? I mean, if OpenAL is still a thing, how is it a top of the line gaming lap top doesn't support it? Thanks

Oct 28, 2012 · OpenAL Soft does not support the Vorbis and MP3 extensions, however these are considered deprecated. It does, though, support some of the newer extensions like AL_EXT_FLOAT32 and AL_EXT_MCFORMATS for multi-channel and floating-point formats, as well as ALC_EXT_EFX for environmental audio effects, and others. As you know this sound card use a software call Host open Al to support openAL and EAX support up to 5 (though the sens_oal.dll). First problem it look like on an X64 version of windows, the creative drivers installer put the 64bits dll of sens_oal.dll in the syswow64 …

Oct 01, 2010 · Hi again, I am pretty sure that my problems are caused by my sound card. I have an integrated RealTek AC97 sound card, which apparently does not support all of OpenAL 2.0's features. If I tell your plugin to use software mode, then AL SET SOUND STRENGTH works fine for me to.
