Apr 11, 2014 · Okay, so this should be a reasonably easy question, my motherboard's (ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z) on board audio card/chip has an optical audio option. I recently saw a fairly good amplifier that supports 5.1 and optical, and I would like to use it for my pc setup. My question is, since I never saw the option in my audio manager, does my audio chip's optical SPDIF support true 5.1?

Oct 04, 2011 · For example VLC - player does have support for true surround over SPDIF, but almost no games do. The only sound card that I am aware of that comes with drivers for doing DTS-output over SPDIF in all applications and games is the Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium (ie. the most ass-hat expensive one of them) that I have on my desktop.

Oct 30, 2014 · SPDIF support Post by elliott78212 » Mon Sep 05, 2011 6:32 am I love this software I even think the video looks better in it that most of my other players however I cannot get it to play AC3 5.1 out through my spdif to my sound system thats how I have my media center hooked up as mine doesn't recieve through the hdmi.
