No 5100 BIOS supports LBA48, and the system has been end of life so long that there won't be one that will. This is a 6+ year old design - contemporary systems from every other vendor have the same limitation. 0 Kudos

Apr 27, 2004 · LBA48 support usually refers to your BIOS. If that is the case you need to either update your BIOS (if possible) or get a new motherboard.

May 18, 2009 · M8 doesn't have LBA48 support. Nghtshd just released an alpha hacked M8 that has LBA48, and also the hooks for other features (like igr and adjustable boot order) for when the next version of xbtool coms out. You can get the alpha hacked M8 at the usual place.

Now I'm running 2.6.0-test10-mm1 (and have also tried 2.6.0-test11) on an Asus P5A-B board (ALI15X3 revision 0xC1), so I can't use LBA48 and DMA, the driver truncates the size of any bigger disk to 137 GB.

Mar 03, 2008 · Linux lba48 support. I have installed a new Sunix SATA2100 controller card (INIC-1622 controller chip) into my ASUS P4PE motherboard to install Fedora Core 8. I have setup the raid card with 2 sata drives of 320GB in a raid 1 config. I intend to install Fedora on the raid drive and boot off it.
