Nov 02, 2019 · Now when you boot up the ESXi installer it will still start a login prompt on tty1 (via techsupport.sh + getty). However, via your kickstart script you can do a kill -HUP on the init process to get it to re-read /etc/inittab (which will now contain the line shown above), and then kill the existing techsupport.sh and getty processes.

On top of this sits a ssd with esxi installed which holds the vm's. I had one raid controller installed, linked via rdm to a win2008 server. After setting up the second raid controller, booting to a livecd to create a partition, and booting back into esxi I kind of expected to see a second device in the vSphere client.
